What does “Gulf Access” mean in Cape Coral?
A Gulf Access property connects you to the open water via a navigable canal system. Unlike freshwater canals, these homes allow you to reach the Caloosahatchee River and eventually the Gulf of Mexico – no bridges or obstructions (in “sailboat access” homes).
Types of Gulf Access homes
Direct / Sailboat Access
No fixed bridges – perfect for sailboats and larger vessels.
Indirect / Standard Gulf Access
Some bridges along the way – suitable for most recreational boats.
