Was macht Bowman’s Beach so besonders?<\/h2>\n

Das herausragendste Merkmal des Bowman\u00b4s Beach ist seine Abgeschiedenheit. Hotels und Ferienh\u00e4user suchst du dort, anders als etwa am Lighthouse Beach, vergeblich. Stattdessen dominiert malerische Natur \u2013 das wird bereits auf dem Fu\u00dfweg deutlich, der von Infotafeln zur Flora und Fauna ges\u00e4umt wird. Der Strand selbst erstreckt sich hinter unber\u00fchrten Sandd\u00fcnen. Heller Sand, klares Wasser und exzellente Sauberkeit erwarten dich am Bowman’s Beach. Und das Beste: Die meisten Besucher entspannen nahe des Eingangs. Wenn du also etwas weiter l\u00e4ufst, findest du auch am Wochenende ein ruhiges Pl\u00e4tzchen.<\/p>\n

Bei so viel Naturidylle ist es kein Wunder, dass sich Floridas Tierwelt am Bowman\u00b4s Beach besonders gut beobachten l\u00e4sst: Pelikane gehen auf Fischfang, kleine Hasen laben sich am Gras der D\u00fcnen und im Wasser bekommst du Rochen und Delfine zu Gesicht. Wer Gl\u00fcck hat, ersp\u00e4ht im Fluss hinter dem Strand sogar Floridas ikonische Manatees.<\/p>\n

Und auch das „Shelling“ erfreut sich am Bowman\u00b4s Beach gro\u00dfer Beliebtheit. Bunte Muschelschalen werden vor allem nach St\u00fcrmen angeschwemmt und zieren den Strand in H\u00fclle und F\u00fclle. Ein Tipp: Besonders sch\u00f6ne Exemplare findest du im etwa h\u00fcfthohen Wasser. Jedoch empfehlen sich Badeschuhe, da die Muscheln recht scharfkantig sind.<\/p>\n

Schwimmen ist dank des sauberen Wassers gut m\u00f6glich \u2013 vor allem weil die Temperaturen das ganze Jahr \u00fcber warm genug sind. Der Strand f\u00e4llt flach ab, eignet sich also auch f\u00fcr Familien mit kleinen Kindern. Wer sein Kanu oder Kajak mitgebracht hat, kann den fischreichen Fluss erkunden. Und nat\u00fcrlich sollte man sich nach einem Badetag den traumhaften Sonnenuntergang nicht entgehen lassen.<\/p>\n

Trotz seines naturbelassenen Flairs besitzt Bowman\u00b4s Beach einige Annehmlichkeiten f\u00fcr Besucher: Toiletten, Duschen, Wasserspender, Umkleidekabinen, Getr\u00e4nkeautomat, Spielplatz sowie Picknicktische und Grillstellen stehen bereit. Jedoch musst du dein Essen selbst mitbringen, da es am Strand keine Restaurants gibt. Auch Moskitospray solltest du f\u00fcr den Bowman\u00b4s Beach einpacken, vor allem wenn du nahe der bewachsenen Sandd\u00fcnen entspannen m\u00f6chtest. Nat\u00fcrlicher Schatten ist rar ges\u00e4t, es empfiehlt sich also ein Sonnenschirm. Hunde sind am Strand erlaubt, m\u00fcssen jedoch an der Leine laufen.<\/p>\n

Anfahrt und Parkpl\u00e4tze<\/h2>\n

Bowman\u00b4s Beach ist der abgelegenste Strand auf Sanibel Island. Zur Anfahrt folgst du der Sanibel Captiva Road und biegst nach dem Feuerwehrhaus links auf die Bowman\u00b4s Beach Road ab.<\/p>\n

Das Parken vor Ort kostet von 07:00 bis 19:00 Uhr umgerechnet 4,50 Euro pro Stunde. Davor und danach ist es kostenlos. Etwa 10 Minuten Fu\u00dfweg sind es vom Parkplatz zum Strand. An Wochenenden und Feiertagen herrscht auch am Bowman\u00b4s Beach gro\u00dfer Andrang. Fr\u00fch aufstehen lohnt sich dann, wenn du noch einen Parkplatz ergattern willst.<\/p>\n
